Profile of: Bishop Lloyd Leslie Faulknor

Lloyd Leslie Faulknor was born in the parish of Manchester, Jamaica to Thomas Samuel and Inez Faulknor. He attended St. Paul’s primary school where he received his childhood education and later pursued a career in automotive engineering. In 1974 he migrated to the United States where he continued his passion for automobiles by completing a course of study at Lincoln Technical Institutes.  Subsequently   the Lord led him through a career change by giving him the opportunity to work with the United States Postal Service, a position he held for 16 years.

Twenty-seven years ago, as a young man he accepted the Lord Jesus Christ in the city of New York under the leadership of the Late Bishop H.J. Taylor. He received the Holy Ghost exactly one month after his baptism. His zeal for the Lord led him to perform in all areas of service. He was Sunday school bus driver and teacher, choir member, youth president both on the local and District level.  During this time, he was called to the ministry. God certainly had his hand upon his servant, but he realized something was missing in his life. In 1980 he married Sis. Paulette Graham. He gained his missing rib and became whole. This union brought forth four lovely children.

Elder Lloyd Faulknor was ordained to the position in 1983 by the late presiding, Bishop William S. Barnes Sr., of the Rehoboth Apostolic Churches of Jesus Christ organization. In 1985, he was called by the Lord to pastor a local assembly in the city of Orange, New Jersey. Initially he resisted this calling until the Lord impressed upon his heart the nature of the work he was about to do. Since then, this ministry has been growing by leaps and bounds. He is now the Senior Pastor of First United Tabernacle Church of Jesus Christ. Pastor Lloyd Faulknor is currently the sole supporter for the “Lloyd L. Faulknor of Biblical Studies” in Liberia, Africa a well recognized and certified College where young men and women can obtain a degree in Theology. He was ordained and Overseer by Bishop Monroe R. Saunders Sr. of the United Church of Jesus Christ in June of 2000.

In his current capacity he now oversees the churches in the Eastern Caribbean Islands, which includes Antigua, Grand Cayman, and the Bahamas. Overseer Faulknor is a diligent and hard worker both temporally and spiritually. His ultimate goal is to the win the lost for Christ. In doing so, he has committed himself to various missions that now include the island of Jamaica. One of his projects is currently located in Spanish Town, St. Catherine. He is now spearheading the construction of a sanctuary to the Glory of God. He has great vision for the work of God both on a local and international level. Wherever there is a need, he is ready to answer the Macedonia call. Overseer Faulknor certainly has the heart of a shepherd. He unquestionably commands the admiration and full support of the First United Tabernacle Family.
